12 Days of Shopping Small: My Favorite Local + Rural Businesses to Support This Holiday Season

Every year, I love using the holiday season as an excuse to slow down, cozy up with some coffee, and celebrate some of my favorite small businesses. This year on social media, I will be sharing my 12 Days of Shopping Small where I highlight a dozen incredible makers, shops, and service providers that I genuinely love and personally use.

From handmade workwear to nourishing wellness products, thoughtful gifts, and cozy experiences, these businesses represent everything I adore about shopping small: heart, quality, creativity, and community.

Here’s the full roundup so you can find a few new favorites too!

1. Rolling D Workwear

Canadian-designed ladies’ workwear made by farm women, for farm women.
I am obsessed with their clothing! It actually fits, the pockets pull out for easy washing, and you can tell it was designed by people who actually live and work in farm clothes. Every piece feels purposeful and made to last.

2. Cattle Cait

Western-inspired fashion with so much creativity and flair! This year I am loving her carved collars and handmade ties. Cait’s pins, and scarf slides also make perfect stocking stuffers. I wear her jewelry constantly, her bangles are a wardrobe staple, and I even wore her earrings for my wedding.

3. Moonchild Botanicals

Handmade herbal wellness products made with love, many from homegrown ingredients. From teas and tinctures to salves and elixirs, everything feels intentional and healing. My go-tos are the Peace Tea (so calming), the Breathe chest rub for colds, and the Glow hair + skin elixir.

4. Blended Souls Coffee and Boutique

This is my happy place! You can sip coffee while you shop (win!), and they carry cute clothing, home goods, and tons of products from local makers. It’s my go-to for stocking stuffers (think bath products, clean house cleaning items, facial masks) and I’m loving their current sweater lineup.

5. Sonders Esthetics

Nestled inside Blended Souls, this is the perfect little retreat to unwind. A facial from Shayne is such a loving, supported experience, and her skincare products have actually transformed my skin. I also have been doing her Glowlift Facial Routine, and it is a game changer.

6. Indianna Makeup Collective

Indy is amazing, not only does she offer makeup services, but also one-on-one makeup lessons where she helps you work with the products you already own. I did her class before my wedding and it gave me the confidence to do my own makeup for the big day. It’s such a fun idea for a girls’ night or mother-daughter day!

7. The Shop Catering

Take the stress off your plate (literally) with The Shop’s delicious pre-made meals. I relied on these during harvest and it was such a lifesaver knowing there was something home-cooked waiting after long days in the field. They also host super fun cooking classes which make a great idea for a holiday party.

8. Ginger & Spice Custom

The cutest sweaters, tumblers, and cozy seasonal items. My Gilmore Girls sweater is on constant rotation, and I’ve got my eye on the “Sassy Grinch” and “Manifest” tumblers. I also bought my sister a sweater recently, they’re so soft and cozy we basically live in them now!

9. Northwood Supply

Every time someone visits my home or sees a photo in my kitchen, they comment on my Northwood Supply wall art. Her designs are bold, fun, and truly statement pieces. Everything she makes brings warmth and character to a space.

10. Ramblin’ Rose Christmas Card Minis

This year, I’m hosting Christmas Card Mini Sessions at The Shop during Cowtown Christmas on December 6th! There’ll be two sets, one outdoor setup for full families and a cozy indoor space perfect for the kids (or those Christmas jammie photos!). Walk-ins are welcome, but pre-booking ensures you get your ideal time.

11. Pine Ranch

For the rancher (or athlete!) on your list, Pine Ranch carries Gallagher fencing products and Redmond salt and electrolyte products. I used their electrolytes all summer during run training, they taste great and work even better. High quality and practical, the perfect combo.

12. Embodied Living

To say Embodied Living changed my life isn’t an exaggeration. Jess has taught me so much about emotional regulation, body connection, and self-understanding. She offers yoga teacher training, retreats, and smaller programs like Burn Bright (Not Out) – something we could all use during the holidays. And her summer Lucent Festival? Pure magic.

🌟 Bonus: Spirit Bear Coffee Company

My everyday coffee! Spirit Bear is Canadian, delicious, and ethically sourced, and their Mint Hot Chocolate is a winter must-have. I’ve gifted their coffee and hot chocolate packs to so many people over the years because they make such cozy, thoughtful gifts.
